Thank you Barbara Noble for your wonderful essay of Los Angeles communities. I have no doubt they will rebuild but what it will look like is not known. I didn't know much about LA until reading your account tonight!
I was deeply moved and saddened to read Barbara Noble’s report from LA. The scale of the destruction is unimaginable and beyond tragic. I can’t begin to wrap my mind around the scale of devastation. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this.
And I can’t help but notice that the person who is about to become our president has not found it within himself to voice one word of compassion for the victims, instead using the fires as a chance to slander Gavin Newsom (with his typically childish “nicknaming” compulsion) as well as DEI initiatives (!). Wow. Just wow.
In regard to MIT Students from Wheatley, you should add Roy Whitehead, 1970 graduate. Unfortunately, he died in 1984 from a rare form of thyroid cancer.
Interesting and informative, as usual. Happy New Year All!
Barbara thank you for your outstanding essay and love letter about LA. 💔
